New Beginnings in Yellowstone National Park

Spring is an exceptionally fun and beautiful time in Wonderland. As the park wakes up from its longest season, winter , some animals wake from slumber others bring new life in to the world.

From a photographic stand point, the park offers many opportunities as animals abound but it is also challenging to capture as the move about across areas of snow. Photographing dark animals on brightly colored snow is never an easy task.

As winter releases its hold on the region there are ample opportunities to watch the glory of new life learning the ways of the world as well as the drama of the hunt for that same new life by the parks predators.

There is no time that I do not enjoy in Wonderland but Spring is an exceptionally fun time to be in the park. I hope you enjoy some of the images from my trip to Yellowstone in the Spring of 2011.

Jimmy Jones - Hi Brian,

You have some great work here!
Looking through your Yellowstone galleries,it seems we were shooting the same things on more than one occasion. Maybe we’ll meet in the field someday.

Keep up the great work!

Images from Wonderland, Fall 2011 Yellowstone National Park

There is a place, a magical place, called Wonderland. It’s a place that has the power to heal, to calm and to rejuvenate. It’s a place many of you know as Yellowstone but to me it will always be Wonderland. Aside from its natural beauty and magnificent creatures it has something else, something that I can only describe as magic. I feel as though I am deeply connected to this part of our country. Something draws me to it. And when I am there it has a profound effect on me. There is no where else that I feel so calm, so at ease and so in touch with not only myself but the world around me.

Wonderland is a place where I go to experience an interaction with the natural world that I have found no where else. It is a place where I can go to contemplate my life and the issues that I come upon and look at them with clarity. It is a place where I can escape the world around me and rejuvenate and replenish my soul.

Wonderland has also given me the gift of friendship. It is there that I have made some of my best friends. Characters from around the country who share a common bond for a very special place.

As many times a year as I can I travel to Yellowstone National Park and emerse myself in its beauty. I am there to recharge, experience its gifts and capture images of its breathtaking vistas and wildlife.

I hope you enjoy these images as much as I enjoy preparing them for you to see.
